A specialist financial technology organisation developing AI-driven financial audit solutions required deeper SAP knowledge to support its product development. As an SAP data consumer working with clients using SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, the organisation needed practical understanding of SAP Finance Business Processes, Data Structures, Reporting and extraction methods to support client reporting and spend audits.


Challenge

The client needed to improve its understanding of SAP data extraction and reporting in order to support the development of a next-generation AI solution. The solution was designed to automatically map agents to customer financial transactions and identify potential financial leakage.

Operating as an SAP data consumer rather than a full SAP system user, the team struggled to understand SAP data extraction capabilities despite extensive self-learning. Having limited exposure to SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments their ability to efficiently develop client-ready solutions was constrained.

The organisation required a structured SAP training programme to build both functional understanding of SAP Finance and technical capability in SAP data extraction.

 

Our Approach

Our SAP Training Practice conducted initial scoping sessions with the Finance Director, IT Director and Lead Developer to define a structured learning pathway aligned with the organisation’s product development goals.

Two key learning tracks were identified:

SAP Overview with Finance Focus

    • Core SAP concepts, terminology and architecture
    • Financial processes and reporting
    • Taxation and data structures
    • Practical understanding of SAP data flows

SAP ABAP Development Training

    • SAP data extraction techniques
    • Report development principles
    • Data manipulation and structuring
    • Practical exercises aligned with real use cases

We designed and delivered a targeted, custom SAP training programme combining interactive workshops, technical sessions and guided practical exercises.

Results & impact

Following the SAP training programme, the client achieved measurable improvements in capability and efficiency.
